Larsen understands the importance that quality plays in running a successful business, as seen from our quality policy below:
“Larsen Manufacturing is committed to providing quality products that meet or exceed customer expectations, while continually improving our Quality Management System”
This World Quality Month, we not only celebrate the numbers behind the success but also our quality professionals who contribute their time and efforts to the cause. Here are a few words from members of our quality departments where they answer and share their thoughts on quality beyond the figures:
What does quality mean to you?
“Quality is based on the satisfaction of the internal and external customer. Quality is the totality of functions and characteristics of a good or a service that concerns its ability to meet or express needs, provide products and services that meet or exceed customer expectations, with the greatest amount of value-add for the customer.” -Carlos Meneses, El Paso Quality Manager
Why is quality important to a business?
“Buy-in is the first/most important hurdle. It creates an environment and culture of good habits for continuous thinking, problem solving, execution and sustainability.” -Sheri Dorman, Stamping Quality Manager
How can Larsen celebrate Quality Month year-round?
“To promote the use of quality tools in company, an event where all employees begin to recognize what they can do in the company to improve the quality of products and services.” – Carlos Meneses, El Paso Quality Manager
In short, everyone is responsible for Quality!
This month is a time to appreciate everyone’s contributions to the company. Everyone has a responsibility to uphold quality standards in their work to see the accomplishments as a collective win. Larsen provides information easily accessible to understand how our performances are going. There are metric graphs posted in the lunchrooms, where everyone can see the business KPI’s, COPQ, and customer complaints. This information can also be seen on the screens outside of the quality rooms, along with audit activity, fun facts, and other useful information to take with you. Currently, our Stamping Division assigns continuous improvement projects on a quarterly basis. In 2021 to date, we have 8 projects for people to follow up with. Let’s take the time to recognize the work our quality personnel do daily and strive for bigger and better performances in the future.
