2022 has been a momentous year for Larsen as we have surpassed many milestones.
This year alone, we were able to showcase why we call ourselves an industry leader in precision sheet metal fabrication, metal stamping, powder coating and value-add assembly services. We exemplified exactly why our partnerships are valued through the many services we provide, by excelling in everything that we do. As our motto states: we will continue to supply the world with “Product That Exceeds Customer Expectations”.
Some of the accomplishments that we wish to highlight start with the introduction of new machinery. We have added new presses including (1) 800T press in Mundelein that will be operational by the end of Q1 2023. We have also added some Amada equipment to both our FAB and Specialty Business Units. FAB now has a 240T press brake with a 110” bed. Speciality now has its own 33T Turret Press.
We are thankful to have a well knowledgeable team working on the floor to handle the influx of jobs and to those individuals who go above and beyond with their dedication to their craft. The united effort of our team moved us to the 18th spot in The Fabricator’s “Fab 40 2022”, moving up 4 spots from last year’s ranking and solidifying our stance in the Top 20. Another title we wish to boost about includes Larsen Manufacturing being named Quality Magazine’s “2022 Quality Plant of the Year” due to our commitment in consistently making quality parts for our customers.
With the increased demand of product came the need for an increase in warehouse space, and Larsen was able to acquire 100,000 sq ft across the street from our main headquarters in early November. The new warehouse allows us more space for shipping and warehouse operations while decreasing the distance and logistics for our products. This has a positive impact on the bottom line.
Of course, our biggest accomplishment in 2022 is none other than the acquisition of Tella Tool & Mfg. We will be operating the Tella business under the name Larsen / Tella LLC. The acquisition will expand Larsen’s job offerings while simultaneously increasing capacity for both companies in the Midwest, Southeast (Brownsville/Matamoros) and Southwest (El Paso/Juarez) regions.
We look forward to the new partnerships created by the Larsen / Tella acquisition.
Lastly, we wish to thank our valued customers which helped us set a revenue breaking year. It is these relationships as well as the relationships with our strong vendor base, that has allowed Larsen to grow and improve in 2023. We’re thankful to have every single one of you on this journey with us and supporting our business the way you do.
