Honoring 20 Years of Service: An Interview with Sofia Alonso, Blanca Salamanca, and Ernestina Luna
Sofia, Blanca, and Ernestina celebrate 20 years of dedication and growth at Larsen Manufacturing, starting in 2004 as some of the first women to join the ELP plant. They describe their journey as one filled with support, personal growth, and deep connections. The family-like culture at Larsen made them feel valued from the very beginning, and it’s this environment that has kept them motivated to stay for two decades.
They fondly remember their early days working on the production floor, where even the most challenging tasks were filled with laughter and camaraderie, creating lasting memories. Throughout their careers, they’ve not only grown professionally but have also become mentors, passing down the lessons and values they’ve learned to new generations of employees.
A special highlight for them has been the unwavering support of Denis Larsen, the company president, and the Leadership Team, whose guidance and encouragement have been instrumental in their success. They reflect with pride on their 20 years, celebrating the milestones they’ve achieved and the recognition they’ve received.
Their advice to new employees is heartfelt:

Meet Gloria Santellano: A Leader in Action
With 17 years at Larsen Manufacturing, Gloria Santellano plays a pivotal role in our El Paso facility. Asa key leader, she oversees front Office Operations, Customer Service, Order Entry, Production Planning, Shipping & Receiving, and Inventory Control. Her dedication and leadership have streamlined operations, improved efficiency, and enhanced customer satisfaction.
Gloria’s advice to women in the industry:

Meet Sandra Velador: A Leader in Innovation and Engineering
For 14 years, Sandra Velador has been a key leader at Larsen Manufacturing, driving efficiency, innovation, and team success. As VA/VE Manager & Engineering, she leads projects that bring systemic and economic benefits to the company while ensuring engineering processes align with evolving product requirements.
Sandra has played a pivotal role in implementing lasting improvements, from training programs and inventory control systems to enhancing quality management and manufacturing operations. Her leadership has helped shape Larsen’s continuous improvement culture. As a Mexican engineer, she champions the power of knowledge, mentorship, and persistence.
Sandra’s advice to women in the industry:

Meet Judith Hernandez: A Visionary Leader in Employee Engagement
Judith Hernandez is a transformational leader at Larsen Manufacturing, dedicated to shaping workplace culture and championing employee engagement. As the Executive Administrative Assistant to the BU Director, she has built upon the foundation of employee benefits initially coordinated by the Director, expanding and elevating them to create a workplace where every employee feels valued and appreciated.
Since joining Larsen in 2022, Judith has been a driving force behind initiatives that foster Unity, Creativity, and Productivity within the organization. With a strong background in corporate administration and employee relations, she has significantly contributed to cultivating a dynamic, inclusive, and innovative environment. Her journey from Chicago to El Paso reflects her resilience and commitment to meaningful change, leaving a lasting impact on both Larsen and the broader Hispanic community.
