Larsen Manufacturing is looking for an experienced Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Coordinator to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring that all company health, safety, and environmental policies are implemented and adhered to, promoting a safe and compliant workplace. The HSE Coordinator will work closely with all levels of the organization to develop, implement, and monitor HSE programs that comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are taken in a timely manner.
- Lead investigations of accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement corrective and preventive measures.
- Train employees on safety protocols, emergency response procedures, and environmental policies.
- Maintain detailed records of safety audits, incidents, and regulatory compliance reports.
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and oversee the implementation of waste management and environmental protection programs.
- Promote a strong safety culture by encouraging proactive reporting of hazards and near misses, and recognizing safe behaviors.
- Collaborate with management and employees to develop safety improvement initiatives and recommend process improvements.
- Manage personal protective equipment (PPE) inventory and distribution to ensure all employees have access to necessary safety gear.
- Stay updated on changes in HSE regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement of safety programs.
Qualifications:
- High school degree or equivalent, or a degree in Environmental Health, Occupational Health, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in an HSE role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, environmental regulations, and industry best practices.
- Proven ability to conduct safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train and engage employees at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- HSE certification (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, CSP, CHMM) is a plus.
