We seek a highly motivated and experienced Assembly Supervisor to lead our assembly team and ensure the efficient and accurate completion of all assembly operations.
As the Assembly Supervisor, you will oversee the daily operations of our assembly department, ensuring that products are assembled to the highest standards and delivered on time. You will be responsible for managing a team of assemblers, coordinating workflow, and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the assembly team to meet production targets.
- Manage and oversee the entire assembly process, ensuring all products are assembled according to specifications and quality standards.
- Plan and schedule assembly work based on production schedules to ensure timely completion.
- Ensure assembly jobs are set up and ready to run efficiently.
- Monitor production schedules and adjust workflows to meet deadlines.
- Train and mentor assembly team members to enhance their skills and productivity.
- Conduct required QA checks before submitting first piece to QA for approval; use various measurement devices.
- Meet or exceed labor production and setup rates; communicate labor rate inaccuracies to supervisor/engineering.
- Suggest improvements for assembly with setup ideas or tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Identify and troubleshoot assembly issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve assembly processes and product quality.
- Prepare and maintain accurate production records and reports.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members.
- Take direction from management and ensure their instructions are followed.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Bi-lingual Spanish Speaker
- Production supervisory: 3 years (Required)
- Minimum of 3+ years experience in a manufacturing/plant environment.
- Proven experience in managing and overseeing an assembly process, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Technical knowledge of fabrication machinery, including but not limited to laser, turret, brake press, welding, grinding, and assembly equipment.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to follow procedures and instructions per ISO requirements.
- Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary.
